phone etiquette rule #1

When I decided to start a blog, I promised myself and those around me that I wouldn't use it to complain, but today is just one of those days and I have placed a big red target on my telephone. The first and perhaps most important rule when making a phone call...get your ish together before you call! Don't just pick up a phone and start pressing buttons and hope your thoughts will come to you mid-dial. Absolutely not! If you need to have a fake phone conversation with yourself to get it together, I definitely encourage it. If you need to write down what you need to say, even better...then you won't forget it. But I assure you, the person you're calling is NOT just sitting around waiting for your phone call. Chances are that person is in the middle of something, and she just wants you to spit out what you need to say so she can get on with her business.
