Five days...
Last night, I went out downtown with my friends. Actually my family. My friends are my family too. They really are the best kind of family because you know they like you. They choose to have you in their lives. With your family family...you don't always know if they REALLY like you or just tolerate you because they have to. Now. Don't get me wrong. I know my family likes me...I mean. I'm awesome. Let's face it. How could they not like me? Annnnywaaay.
So I'll be 28 years old in five days. I know it's not some monumental birthday. But what I do know is a lot. And a lot includes the following. Every year is another reason to celebrate. When I'm 89 years old, I guarantee I won't remember all of my days and all of the laughs or all of the birthdays...but I'd like to remember as much of my life as possible. So I decided that every year, for my birthday, I'm going to celebrate my life and accomplishments in a monumental way! Hopefully with the people who love me. Yes, a birthday is just another day, but it's a good time for me to remind myself of all the things I have to be thankful for. Sometimes we all get caught up in the day to day activities that we forget what's really important.
And here's another thing I know....what's important is laughing. I laugh a lot. Wanna know how I know that?! Look at my face. All 28 years of laughter can be seen on my face. When I was out last night, I looked at my face in the mirror in the restroom at the bar. The first thing I saw (minus my jacked up haircut...we'll get to that later) was my laugh lines around my mouth. For a second, I thought to myself...wow, I'm getting old...you can see my laugh wrinkles. But if you ask me...I'll take the laugh wrinkles. It just shows that I've spent a good amount of my life laughing.
Happy 28 to me! Laugh on!
